Jav IT Group are able to assist our clients with their desktop or server configuration and rollout efforts. We have the facilities and expertise to configure anywhere from just a few to a few hundred or more desktops, laptops and/or servers. Our rollout and configuration services include testing, loading (and creating if required) of SOE images, configuration, onsite deployment, retiring and disposing of old hardware and ongoing support. We can even procure the hardware and software for you, offering you a full one-stop-shop for your rollout projects.

Throughout the project, we are able to supply our clients with up-to-date information about the status of the project, including information about which computers have been received at our warehouse, which are currently undergoing testing or configuration, which have been expedited from our warehouse, and which have been deployed on the client’s site. This information is available to our clients in real-time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our web-based extranet, or via regular emailed reports.

In performing rollout and configuration services, Jav has a strict set of guidelines to which we will always adhere. Jav will provide the following services as part of any rollout and/or configuration project:

1. Project Design & Scoping
During this phase, we will meet with your project leaders to discuss the scope and requirements for the project. We will ascertain exactly what services are required (eg: which hardware should be tested, where the hardware will be procured, creation of the SOE image, etc). From these discussions, we will create a Project Plan outlining the work to be completed, any relevant milestones and deadlines, project schedules and final deliverables.

2. Configuration & Testing Services
Once the Project Plan has been agreed upon, and the project commences, Jav will begin to assemble, configure and test your equipment in our configuration centre, as outlined in the Project Plan. We will perform full hardware tests to ensure the hardware you receive is not faulty in any way, install your company’s SOE images onto the machines, and test the software configurations before releasing them into your environment. Therefore, you can rest assured that the equipment you receive will be ready for deployment when it arrives at your site, without the risk of faulty equipment or software configurations problems.

3. Client Site Deployment Services
If agreed upon in the Project Plan, Jav will deliver the tested and configured equipment to your site, where we will install and test the equipment. Our experienced engineers will visit your site and ensure that the deployment process is smooth and trouble-free.

4. Client Acceptance
Once you are satisfied with the completion of the project and all the new equipment is delivered and installed as per the Project Plan, Jav will supply you with a project overview, including a project summary and any important system configuration information that you might require. We are also able to offer 24x7 ongoing technical support of the systems, so you can be sure your rollout will be as smooth and trouble-free as possible.

Case study - Large Scale WIN XP Rollout for Australasia’s Leading Food Company

This project was an Australia wide Windows XP rollout. Technicians were required to provide support during the day and to rollout Win XP at night including software installations, transfer files etc. JAV IT Group sourced all of the resources by searching their extensive database and advertising on web based job boards. A consistent interview and selection process was also utilized. JAV IT Group took responsibility for all of the resources throughout the project. This involved drawing up rosters for each site, providing instructions to all resources, and coordinating teleconferences and inductions for each site.

The project was carried out in all states including Tasmania and remote areas such as Wahgunyah, VIC; and Whyalla, South Australia. The project was conducted from April 2005 to December 2005 and involved 115 Technicians, 2 Project Leaders, and a number of Team Leaders.

The project was completed successfully and within the time frame.
